Three years of war in Ukraine

It has been 11 years since the Russian aggression and three years since the full-scale invasion of Ukraine. Despite diplomatic efforts for peace, the attacks and bombings continue, forcing millions of people to flee their homes. Since the beginning of the war, approximately 11.2 million people have transited through Romania, seeking safety and support.
Since day one, CNRR has been with the displaced persons, offering them support in various forms, from counseling on accessing social rights and benefits, translating documents required for health services, to resources for learning the Romanian language and interpretation during medical consultations. Over 2,600 people have benefited from medical assistance with the support of CNRR, and our team has been present at over 800 medical consultations and investigations, supporting them with essential interpretation services.
I am very grateful for the support. Elena helps me a lot, especially when she goes with me to the hospital. Without her, I would not have been able to cope. You are invaluable to us!
To mark three years of resilience, CNRR teams in the country organized events aimed at celebrating the courage of displaced people and their stories of sacrifice, strength, reconstruction and solidarity. Together with our partners, we remain dedicated to supporting the integration of those who were forced to leave their lives at home behind.
We thank the Romanian government, all refugee organizations and the entire Romanian people for accepting us. We always receive help in hospitals, schools or courses. Health, kindness and peace to everyone!
